Church Leaders Effort to Foster Positive Relationships with Police Officers and Youth
In light of recent violence area police officers are making efforts to spread positive messages to the youth.
The Prattville Police Department participated in Autauga County’s Youth Explosion with Ward Chapel AME Church. The event featured panelists discussing several topics for teens and younger children to understand the positive influence of law enforcement. Church leaders say it’s very important the church take the initiative to get kids on the right track.
“We need to set the pace. The church needs to look at the issues that are impacting our community and not run away from them but address them appropriately,” says Agnes Lover, Pastor of Ward Chapel AME.
The Montgomery Police Department also got involved with the youth, at Maggie Street Baptist Church, participating in a youth basketball game.
