Mayor Willis Re-Elected in Wetumpka

Voters re-elected Jerry Willis as mayor to his third term.

Mayor Jerry Willis beat out his opponent, Emmitt Johnson, Jr,  in a landslide vote 781 to 421. Willis says he is the first mayor in the city’s history to win three consecutive terms. And he tells us he is excited about things that are on the horizon for the city.

“We have businesses calling us and wanting to re-locate here. There are restaurants and businesses out of Birmingham. And we have a lot of great things that are happening here in our city and we want to continue that,” said Willis.

Willis says he would like to thank the voters that turned out at the polls. He looks forward to working with his opponent to bring new ideas to the city.
