Budget Passes Includes Pay Raise for County Workers in Dallas Co.

From the West Alabama Newsroom– The Dallas County Commission has passed a $22.5 million dollar budget for fiscal year 2015.
Probate Judge Kim Ballard says the budget includes a four percent across the board pay raise for county employees.
The budget also includes the purchase of six new patrol cars to help the sheriff’s office update its fleet.
“We got six the first year, the next year we didn’t get any. This year we get six more. In two years we’ll get six more,” said Sheriff Harris Huffman. “You know, Dallas County is 976 square miles and we drive all of them.”
Dallas County has two hundred employees. The pay raises and the new budget go into affect October 1st.
