Record Breaking Heat Continues

Another day of record breaking heat across the river region. We reached 89 degrees this afternoon in Montgomery, breaking the old record of 87 from back in 2004. Its likely that we will tie or exceed record high temperatures through at least Tuesday.

Tonight, temperatures fall into the upper 50s overnight under clear skies. It will be hot and dry once again tomorrow, with an afternoon high near 90 in Montgomery. The hot and dry weather pattern will continue into next week. Drought conditions will also persist throughout the work week. Afternoon high temperatures will be near 90 for Monday and Tuesday as well.

The upper level ridge of high pressure currently over the area starts to break down towards the end of the work week, causing afternoon highs to fall just a bit. There is a slight chance for rain Thursday night into Friday, but most stay dry. A cold front may try to make its way through the area next weekend, but there is a lot of uncertainty with this potential change to the weather pattern.
