Selma Police Continue to Investigate Apparent Shootout
From the West Alabama Newsroom– Selma Police continue to look for answers about an apparent shootout on a city street that left two people hurt and many more concerned about their community.
Crime scene investigators are still collecting evidence in the case including surveillance video from a convenience store located on the block where it happened.
The video shows what appears to be several people get involved in a fight — then start running. It also shows one of the shooting victims run inside the store.
“Right now its still under investigation,” said Lt. Curtis Muhannad. “We’re not quite sure if both of the victims were accomplices, were they shooting at someone or were they shooting at each other. They didn’t want to cooperate with law enforcement. They said they didn’t see anything. They don’t know why the shooting occurred or who were the shooters.”
