MPD Investigates Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Northern Blvd.

On Thursday, January 26, at about 12:45, Montgomery police and Fire Medics responded the Northern Blvd at Congressman Dickinson Drive in reference to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian, an adult male, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured and no charges are anticipated.

MPD’s investigation indicates that the adult male was driving eastbound on the Blvd. when he pulled over, exited his vehicle and walked into the westbound lanes of traffic where he was struck by a 2010 Volkswagon Jetta.

The investigation further indicates that the adult male was attempting to retrieve an item from the roadway.

MPD’s investigation is continuing and nothing additional is available at this time.
