Winter’s Last Hurrah, Freeze Warnings in Effect
TUESDAY: It will remain cloudy due to wrap around moisture. It will be another cold day as highs will not climb out of the upper 40s and lower 50s. Add in a brisk northwest wind at 10-20mph, it will be feeling much colder. By the afternoon, we are likely to see some peeks of sunshine.
WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY: Freeze warnings are in effect for both Wednesday and Thursday mornings. These days will be dry and mainly sunny, but unseasonably cold. Very cold mornings with significant freezes expected as lows will be down into the 20s, and Thursday morning still looks to be the coldest morning, with lower and mid 20s expected. Highs Wednesday will be in the 40s, but we should see 50s return Thursday.
FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: Still a lot of model inconsistency with our rain chances. It looks like Friday starts off dry, but we should see rain back in Alabama Friday night and into Saturday with scattered showers expected. Despite the rain, we are going to see a warming trend with our temperatures as 60s are expected for highs Friday and Saturday. For Sunday, we have backed off the chance of scattered showers, but it will be warmer as 70s are expected to return.
HELLO SPRING: Spring officially starts next Monday the 20th at 5:28AM. By then, it will be feeling like spring again, and much of next week will see highs in the 70s. Next week, there will be a decent rain event toward the end of the week that might feature some strong storms and the pattern stays active through the end of the month.
Have a terrific Tuesday and stay warm!
Ryan
