What’s Behind The Red Door?

In a world with entertainment at your fingertips, live theater’s often thought of as a thing of the past. But some community theaters are surviving because of just that—the community.
This is a look at the Red Door Theatre in Union Springs. It was once an Episcopal Church, but the diocese gave it to the city.
Now the Red Door Theatre is run by volunteers under the Tourism Council. They put on about four productions each year. Their next musical opens Thursday, called ‘Always…Patsy Cline.’
Midge Putnam, Exec. Director Tourism Council Bullock County said, “It broadens everything about you it just brings pleasure to you entertainment wise it educates you. Live theater is so rare especially in a small town that we are just so proud that we can offer live theater.”
All the actors, band and staff are volunteer for ticket information cal (334)l 738-8687.
