Montgomery Church Takes Action

In the wake of controversy over police treatment of black citizens, and grand jury’s refusal to indict police officers who killed unarmed black men, some local churches are responding in their own ways.
Southside Church of Christ had one agenda today for members and guests. Hear a word, and leave with a plan. Minister Tim Anderson… As well as other members of the church decided to have Blackout Sunday a day where all members wore black to show solidarity in the face of national outrage for the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases. Where unarmed black men were killed by on-duty police officers.
Grand juries decided not to indict the officers in either of those cases.
Bailey says when it comes to these two cases it’s not the judicial syatem that’s broken… It’s the people who are in the system that are broken.
And communities need to take action.
