500+ Graduate During Troy University’s Fall Commencement

More than 500 students are now graduates of Troy University.

And after being handed their degrees at today’s fall commencement, many are entering into a job market that’s improving but still not as good as some hoped.

The new grads are facing unemployment numbers essentially the same as this time last year.
Alabama sits at an unemployment rate at 6.3 percent, that’s above the national average.

Some say they are opting for grad school to make them more valuable to employers and more likely to land a job.

Sherrell Comeaux, will attend grad school said, “I feel the job market it’s a little hard basically because every time I go to put in an application it’s more of an experience side. But overall it’s just basically having experience in the job market.”

The graduates today represent 22 states and 15 nations.
