500+ Graduate During Troy University’s Fall Commencement

More than 500 students are now graduates of Troy University.Â
Â
And after being handed their degrees at today’s fall commencement, many are entering into a job market that’s improving but still not as good as some hoped.
Â
The new grads are facing unemployment numbers essentially the same as this time last year. Â
Alabama sits at an unemployment rate at 6.3 percent, that’s above the national average.Â
Â
Some say they are opting for grad school to make them more valuable to employers and more likely to land a job.Â
Â
Sherrell Comeaux, will attend grad school said, “I feel the job market it’s a little hard basically because every time I go to put in an application it’s more of an experience side. But overall it’s just basically having experience in the job market.”
Â
The graduates today represent 22 states and 15 nations.
