Clearing & Drying Out !

What’s left of Irma continues to move away from us. This will allow clearing and drier conditions to settle back across the area. Sunshine combined with warmer southwest winds will send temps into the 80s the remainder of the week. Some moisture will creep into the region going into the weekend. We could see scat’d showers developing especially southern areas…

Irma Weakening

T.S. Storm Irma continues to weaken as it moves northward. Windy and rainy conditions will linger over parts of the area overnight. We’re on the backside of this tropical system Tuesday. Skies remain mostly cloudy but the winds won’t be near as gusty. Winds will be southwesterly so we expect temps to warm into the mid to upper 70s. Moisture…

Feels Like Fall

Irma weakened a little today but it’s is still a powerful hurricane. Movement continues westward and the southern Bahamas are in the path tonight into Thursday. Looks like a potential south Florida landfall Sunday. Around here we still don’t see any significant impacts for area at all. Sunny and dry conditions will prevail through early next week. Temps continue to…

Cool & Dry !

Irma remains a category 5 hurricane as it passes just north of Puerto Rico tonight. Looks like the hurricane will be impacting south Florida this weekend. Around here it is much quieter and it will stay that way for several days. We are now on the backside of a cold front and the cooler air is spilling into the deep…

Hurricane Irma will be stealing the weather headlines for time being but back here on the home we’re setting up for our first taste of fall like air this week. A cold front will usher in a few showers/t-storms through early Wednesday but after that it’s sunshine and cooler temps for several days. Daytime highs will still manage the 80s…

Late Week Cool Down !

Labor Day marks the unofficial end to summer and it just so happens we are in line for some cooler air later this week. In the mean time, we have more 90 degree heat for Tuesday. This will be brief as a cold front approaches from the northwest. The front will help kick off scat’d showers and t-storms through Wednesday…

Dry & Warmer Pattern

Harvey has departed off to our north and now it’s time to dry out and warm up. High pressure will move back over the region and this put us back into sunny and dry weather pattern. The air will be dry and that will make it feel comfortable in the mornings and warm in the afternoon. Temps will start out…

Dry & Milder Days Ahead

Harvey is on the move and it’s influence on our weather is slowly coming to an end. Showers and t-storms will continue to move across the area tonight into early Friday. We still can’t rule out a few strong to possibly severe storms. Our weather settles down starting tomorrow and a very nice holiday weekend is ahead. Mostly sunny and…

Stormy Through Friday

Our rainy and active weather pattern continues through the rest of the work week. Gulf moisture will be pulled into the region around the circulation of T.S. Harvey. Harvey will be weakening but heavy rain and strong to severe storms will be possible as the system tracks northeastward. Around here the threat for strong to severe storms will be greatest…

More Rain Ahead

Looks like a rainy weather pattern for us the remainder of this week. Cloudy and wet along with passing showers and t-storms. Rainfall amounts will range between 1 to 3 inches with heavier amounts possible over extreme west Alabama. A strong to severe storm can’t be ruled out Thursday into Friday. Harvey will be passing northwest of us but its…
