Fangio still unsure who to name as his starting quarterback

Broncos coach Vic Fangio is extending his audition for his starting quarterback indefinitely. Fangio says the competition between incumbent Drew Lock and newcomer Teddy Bridgewater remains too close to call after 18 practices and two preseason games. That doesn’t necessarily mean the two quarterbacks will play Saturday night against the Rams in the preseason finale. Fangio says he’s not decided on that either. He says he’s still evaluating Bridgewater and Lock to determine the best option to lead a talented, young offense and complement a dominant defense. The Broncos open the regular season against the Giants on Sept. 12.
