Camp Conquest Serving As Kids Summer Camp For Burn Survivors

Camp Conquest is a kid's summer camp for burn survivors, where campers meet with others who have been through similar experiences. The camp has been responding to the needs of pediatric burn survivors for over 20 years. Each summer, they host a week long experience at Children's Harbor on Lake Martin. Campers spend their days boating, swimming, and meeting other survivors. Alabama Fire Marshals from across the state volunteer as camp counselors. 

Trespassing Warrant Issued for Man Who Served Lawsuit to Mo Brooks

Tuesday, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Congressman Eric Swalwell teammate Christian Seklecki of Georgia for the Class A misdemeanor of 1st Degree Criminal Trespass. Christian Seklecki illegally entered Congressman Mo Brooks’ (AL-05) home and accosted his wife, Martha Brooks, on June 6. On June 7, Congressman Brooks released home surveillance video proving Seklecki stalked Martha Brooks and ran into the Brooks’ home without the Brooks’ knowledge or permission.

As COVID-19 Restrictions Ease Montgomery Sees Increase In Tourism

One year ago, Montgomery tourism was at an all time low due to the pandemic, but now as restrictions begin to ease tourists are coming back to the capital city.  The City of Montgomery offers all kinds of attractions and historic sites from the Rosa Parks Museum, to the state capital, and more. 

All City of Montgomery Employees Getting Pay Raises for the First Time in Years

Mayor Steven L. Reed revised the City of Montgomery’s pay plan to align employee compensation with that offered by comparable cities and organizations. This will result in substantial salary increases for the Montgomery Police Department, Montgomery Fire/Rescue, Sanitation, Street Maintenance and all City employees. The change will be effective on Oct. 1, 2021.
