The Stars and Stripes Independence Day celebration in downtown Selma — kicks off July 3rd — then continues July 4th. Festivities include a carnival — a free concert — food vendors — and a fireworks show….
U.S. Postal Service facilities will be closed for retail transactions on Monday, July 5, for observance of the 4th of July holiday. There will be no regular mail delivery and limited mail collection runs will be conducted in Alabama, which includes ZIP Codes that begin with 350-369 and 386-397.
If you’re traveling this weekend, leave extra time for getting through the airport security line. The TSA projected that Friday would be its busiest day ever, with agents screening more than 2.7 million people. The City of Tuskegee is kicking off its 4th of July celebrations early this year. The city is hosting an inaugural 4th of July Fair this weekend. Admission to the fair is free to the public.
