The Auburn-Opeleika News reports the order was filed Friday afternoon.

Updyke plead guilty in March to poisoning the iconic trees in 2010 after the Iron Bowl.

A judge ordered the money to go to Auburn University to pay for lost revenue and expenses related to the removal and replacement of the oaks.

Updyke’s attorney has argued he is indigent, and cannot pay the money.

In a court order the judge said Updyke could perform community service to reduce the amount he owes.
The state originally wanted $1.3 million  in restitution.
