PIKE COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Pike County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men for stealing copper.
Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas says his office started an investigation on June 7 after copper was stolen in the Springhill community.
After patrol was boosted in the area, deputies made contact with a suspicious vehicle in the area where the offense had occurred.
Two of the people in the vehicle were identified as Kevin Little and Christopher Bryant.
After a search warrant was executed at Little’s home in Coffee County, investigators found copper wire belonging to South Alabama Electric Cooperative, resulting in his arrest.
Investigators also interviewed Bryant and took him into custody on a first degree theft of property charge.
It was determined that both men took copper wire from multiple areas of Pike County. South Alabama Electric Cooperative says the amount totaled to $7,842.76.
The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
