Night Club, Bar Security Guards Must Get Certified

Montgomery night club and bar owners have 90 days from today to get all of their security certified.
City councilmen unanimously voted on the ordinance, which would require all security workers to be trained to work at nightclubs.
This comes after a shooting at the former Centennial Hill Bar and Grill left three people dead last year.
Some believe the security there were not adequately trained.
After that shooting, some city councilmen wanted Montgomery police working in the parking lots of night clubs but Montgomery Police Chief Kevin Murphy said that was a conflict of interest.
Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange says he’s pleased with the council’s decision to certify security guards.
