AUM softball fighting back after losing top spot in NAIA poll
AUM softball falls to No. 2 in NAIA poll behind Oklahoma City.
Montgomery, AL— The Auburn-Montgomery softball team has fallen one spot to No. 2 in the third regular-season NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. AUM lost both doubleheader games to Brenau University this past weekend, but the Warhawks are fighting back.
“We were a little aggravated that we were pushed out of that top spot,” Warhawks head coach Eric Newell said. “The girls played well, but this past weekend we kind of stubbed our toe. Off camera we were talking to the team, and it’s time for us to pick it up. Let’s use that and have short term memory and move on. We are going to have an inspired practice this week, get after it and get things back on the ground running.”
The Warhawks stand at 36-5 on the year. Their next game is Friday, April 15, at Brewton-Parker college.
