AUM XC registers 4th in Gulf Coast Stampede

PENSACOLA, Fla. (aumathletics.com) —– The Auburn Montgomery men’s cross country team finished fourth in the Gulf Coast Stampede, an 8K meet hosted by the University of West Florida at the Escambia County Equestrian Center, Saturday.
INDIVIDUAL FINISHES
• Jacob Russell Lister was the top finisher for the Warhawks, crossing the finish line in 28:50.30 to finish 13th in the 34-runner field.
• Dozier Atwell posted a time of 29:55.70 to finish 19th.

  • Ashton King ran a season-best time of 30:10.20 and finished 20th.
  • Anfernee Williams recorded a time of 30:52.00 to place 21st.
  • Jacob Crouch was the fifth finisher for the Warhawks, posting a time of 31:19.40 to finish 23rd.
  • Brandon Bennefield followed closely behind, finishing in 31:28.20, good for a 24th-place finish.
  • Patrick Gregorius finished in 33:03.70 and finished 28th.

TEAM FINISHES
• West Florida rolled to a team championship, finishing with just 20 points.
• Spring Hill finished as runner-up with 59 points.

  • Mobile finished third with 65 points.
  • AUM finished with 91 total points in the meet to finish fourth.

NOTES
• West Florida had four of the top five individual finishers, including individual champion Tim Wenger. Wenger finished with a time of 26:54.60.

  • Spring Hill’s Spencer Albright finished second with a time of 27:00.60.

UP NEXT
• The men will return to action next Saturday, Oct. 1, by running in the UAH Invitational in Huntsville, Ala. The meet is slated to begin at 9 a.m.
