ALDOT Names New Southeast Regional Engineer
Transportation Director John Cooper has appointed Steve Graben as Region Engineer for the Southeast Region of ALDOT effective December 1, 2016.
The position of Region Engineer is appointed by the Transportation Director, with duties that include the planning, design, construction, maintenance and repair of Alabama’s state, U.S and interstate routes.
Graben is replacing George Conner who has been promoted to Deputy Director of Operations effective December 1, 2016.
Graben received his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Auburn University and is a registered Professional Engineer with the state of Alabama.
He served with the Army Reserves and retired while an officer in the Corp of Engineers.
Graben began his ALDOT career in 1987 as a Graduate Civil Engineer. He has since held many positions within the department including Division Engineer for the former Sixth Division. He has most recently served as Assistant Region Engineer for the Southeast Region since it was formed October 1, 2014.
