Pay It Forward: Shatara Clark of Montgomery
Shatara Clark of Montgomery started a non-profit for women called TyTalks.
“I just have a heart for women, and I just want to make them feel welcome. And let them know they can be whatever they desire to be besides just being a wife or mom or worker or whatever that we also have other dreams and goals, so that’s what I try to instill,” said Clark.
Her giving heart was noticed by one of her former students.
“Ms. Clark, she just has a very kind heart. I met her in the 11th grade at Central high school and ever since I met her, I fell in love with her because it was more than just being a teacher. She became someone that felt like a mom to me,” said Tiesha Scott.
Ms. Clark has this advice for anyone who is dreaming about giving back to others in the community.
“If you have a desire to make a difference in any way, and it may not look like what other people are doing, it may even sound weird to you what you want to do, just go for it. Just start building,” said Clark.
