Pay It Forward: Gloria Johnson of Greenville
Gloria Johnson is a retired teacher and also the pastor of Mt. Olive AME Zion Church. She took her retirement and savings to open open up a tutoring center.
“She is a sweet, generous person. She loves the children in our area. The Sav-A-Child Christian Center is a place where the children can come and study learn and realize dreams can come true,” said nominator Myrtle Albritton.
It all started in 1995 when Johnson tutored kids in her home. A few years ago she built the Sav-A-Child Center.
And continues to pour into the lives of children in the community.
“What we have to realize is that these children will be the next leaders, and they will be as great or as not as great as what we deposit into them,” said Johnson.
Stewart Vance of The Vance Law Firm awarded Johnson $333 for all she does for the community.
