Pay It Forward: Harold Bell of Lowndes County
Harold Bell is the mayor of the small town of Mosses in Lowndes County.
While you may expect mayors to serve the people, Bell takes it to a whole new level.
“He has been doing so many things. Can’t even hardly mention them. Whatever it is if you gotta go to the doctor, if you are in the hospital, he comes to see you,” said Mary Conner his Pay It Forward nominator.
Mayor Bell takes people to the doctor free of charge and he’ll even come and check on a leak for them. Whatever they need, he’s ready to assist.
He says the desire to help people started when he was young.
“Long time ago when I was a young boy, my mother and father always looked out or wanted to help someone, and I said to myself, I wanted to be just like my parents. I decided and prayed about it and said, ‘God give me that strength.’ And that’s what I’m doing now,” said Bell.
