Troy Softball
Troy pitcher Libby Baker earns the Rawlings Gold Glove presented by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Baker was one of nine winners announced at a press conference prior to the Women’s College World Series.
Baker is now the first player in Sun Belt Conference history to receive the nation’s top defensive award and was the fourth player from a non power-five school to earn a Golden Glove.
Baker earned the award as a pitcher and did not commit an error in 163 total chances between her time at first base and in the circle. For the 2024 season Baker recorded  59 assists and 104 putouts as she appeared in the circle in 32 games and played first base in portions of 34 games.
Baker was one of two players in the Sun Belt with at least 135 defensive attempts to not commit an error this season and the only player in the league with more than 15 assists to not commit an error.
