A Lowndes County woman has been killed after crashing a Hummer SUV in Montgomery County.

Alabama State Troopers say 57-year-old Elizabeth Mitchell of Lowndesboro was driving the SUV at around 5:15PM yesterday when it left the road, hit a sign, re-entered the road and overturned. Investigators say she wasn’t using a seat belt, was thrown out of the SUV and died at the scene.

The wreck happened on Old Selma Road near Cantelou Road, about two miles west of Montgomery.
