1 dead, 1 injured in Montgomery house fire

Montgomery firefighters are investigating a house fire the left one person dead and another injured.

The fire happened late Saturday night around 11:30 p.m. in the 500 block of London House Road.

Once firefighters arrived, they found a single-story home with smoke and flames showing and a W-3 working fire was declared.

During the primary search, they found an adult woman unresponsive with a weak pulse. The unidentified woman was taken to Jackson Hospital for treatment.

Firefighters later found a male victim during the secondary search. 44-year-old Jamaal Dawson was pronounced dead on the scene.

There are no reports of injuries to any firefighters.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Bureau of Investigations.
