Pay It Forward: Katrina Wilson of Montgomery
Katrina Wilson is a tennis instructor at O’Connor Tennis Center and part of the Central Alabama Tennis Association. She teaches tennis to students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn the game.
“I am a huge fan of everything that she does, her hard work, her dedication, everything she puts into promoting youth tennis in Montgomery. She, in my opinion, is the best ticket around. She’s very giving, gives of herself. She gives of her time. Her own resources, too,” said Casey Boswell her nominator.
And she helps them learn skills for a lifetime.
“Makes feel good at the end of the day when a kid says to you, ‘hey, I never thought I could play tennis and I think I’ve found my sport. And I’m gonna give it a try for my high school and hopefully I can play after high school because after high school, they can always play league. So its a good way for everybody,” said Wilson.
When it comes to giving back, Wilson has this advice for others.
“You can always give back, whether it be reading, sports, you can always give back. Just find your niche and give back to the kids. The kids are looking for something, so lets make a difference in their lives,” said Wilson.
