Pay It Forward: Regina Groomster of Montgomery
We are recognizing another unsung hero making a difference in the community. This week’s Vance Law Firm’s Pay It Forward honoree is Regina Groomster of Montgomery.
Groomster is the registrar in the counseling office and is also the cheer coach at Park Crossing High School.
“She’s my right hand. I’ve been in situations where there’s only one counselor, you know, for a time period and I can always depend on her. She’s been here with me at night, early in the mornings, helping me, assisting me, you know, throughout. So I felt like she just goes far above and beyond, here, at the school and in the community,” said Stephanie Wilson, co-worker and nominator.
Groomster is always ready to do whatever she can to help others.
“You name it she does it, and she does it very well, and she does it with a smile. She is one of the nucleus of our school building here. She does whatever we ask whenever we ask, and all of the students love her and the parents know her as well. She does a great job with our cheerleaders. She does a great job with the staff. She’s always willing and open to assist with everything that we need and she is very creative,” said Park Crossing principal Cheryl Fountain.
That’s why Stewart Vance of the Vance Law Firm is paying it forward to her with a $333 check in her name.
While she does not seek out recognition, Groomster says she appreciates the people around her who make her feel loved.
“We do a lot for the school and sometimes we do feel like we’re not always appreciated. But having this done today, lets me know that the reason why I love my job so much is because I got people around me that cares. As a child I was raised by my grandparents and not having that mother-father figure around me for a long time and seeing kids that are in need, helps me want to help more,” said Groomster.
