PCA Athletic Director joins the AHSAA Staff as Assistant Director
Alabama High School Athletic Association executive director Heath Harmon announced Friday Tara Osborne will be joining the AHSAA as an assistant director beginning January 6.
Harmon said he is still interviewing for two other executive staff positions and hopes to have those positions filled soon.
Osborne comes to the AHSAA from Prattville Christian Academy where she has spent the last 15 years as a teacher, coach, and administrator. She served PCA as its athletic director. During her tenure, the Panthers won two AHSAA state volleyball championships, three girls’ state basketball championships, and one state softball title.
Osborne is a member of the AHSAA Strategic Planning Committee, and she represented the AHSAA and Section 3 on the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) board of directors – representing 10,000 NIAAA members across the U.S. and world.
She attended Chattanooga (TN) State Community College (1994-1996) on a basketball scholarship and earned her B.A. in Early Childhood Education at Columbus State University  in 1999 while attending school on a full basketball scholarship. She taught and coached at Evangel Christian School in Montgomery from 2004-2008, and then moved to Huntingdon College (2008-2010) where she served as an assistant women’s basketball coach prior to joining the Prattville Christian staff in 2010.
She has earned certification as a Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA), and Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA).
