Trojans add two signees to their 2025 signing class

The Troy baseball program announced the addition of two signings to the Trojans’ 2025 class, joining eight players that Skylar Meade and his staff signed in the fall.
Jabe Boroff, a catcher from Enterprise State Community College, and Zaid Diaz, an outfielder from Chipola College, are set to join the Trojans for the 2025-26 academic year.
Jabe Boroff – Catcher – Pike Road, Ala. – Enterprise State Community College
Boroff comes to Troy from just down the road at Enterprise State Community College, where he was one of the top hitters in all of junior college baseball. Boroff was an All-ACCC Division II First Team selection as a freshman after leading the conference in batting average (.445), on-base percentage (.583), slugging percentage (.856), home runs (8) and RBIs (42).
“Last season Jabe put up some of the most preposterous numbers in the country,” Meade said. “But what really sold us was the development he has made defensively both behind the plate, and on the corner as a 3rd baseman.  He is committed to being great, and his improvements are stark to us as coaches.  Also, we joke often about this, but we need to add some right-handed hitters with the large number of left-handed hitters we have in our program.  We appreciate Coach Frichter and his staff for helping land this future star at Troy.”
Zaid Diaz – Outfielder – Miramar, Fla. – Chipola College
Diaz comes to Troy from Chipola College, the same junior college that produced current Trojans Shane Lewis and Chase Nelson. Diaz put together a productive freshman season for the Indians, posting a .294 batting average, .412 on-base percentage and .541 slugging percentage in 109 at-bats. The outfielder also tallied seven home runs, 36 RBIs and 29 walks.
“We truly feel that Zaid is one of the best hitters in all of junior college baseball,” Meade said. “He can hit for power, low swing and miss, and he really has an advanced approach.  He is a super kid who will fit in immediately with his teammates here in Troy.  We are so glad to continue our Chipola connection with Coach Johnson and Hixon.”
