Mayor’s Cup features area high school volleyball team
Twenty varsity volleyball teams competed in the Mayor’s Cup tournament at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl on Saturday.
The teams began pool play on Friday and wrapped it up on Saturday as eight teams advanced to the gold bracket.
Montgomery Academy defeated Montgomery Catholic in the semifinals before falling to Briarwood in the championship match. Defending 4A State Champions Prattville Christian Academy finished 5th, while Pike Road finished second in the consolation bracket. Alabama Christian Academy, Brewbaker Tech, Carver, Prattville, St. James and Trinity also competed
