Mayor John Hatfield says it’s part of a new three-part city-property paving project.

“It looks good,” said Hatfield.

“Waiting on the striping for the parking lot. But things are looking good in Valley Grande.”

“This is very nice,” said resident Nathan Andrews.

“New leadership coming into the city making changes already. Boots on the ground. They’re going to make a lot of good changes and a lot of nice things are coming to Valley Grande,” said Andrews.

Hatfield says the city is also upgrading the parking at the city park and the sports plex.

Waka Vgpaving1222 PkgHe says the paving project will help improve safety by organizing parking — and improving accessibility at city facilities.

“We can put handicapped people into the parking lot,” said Hatfield.

“Instead of pulling them across the slag parking lot, now we’ll have a nice pavement for them to come enjoy either our park or our ball field.”

Hatfield says the paving project has a price tag of about $150,000 dollars.

“We’d also like everyone to come out and view our park. It’s Christmas-friendly. And you can bring the kids out, do Christmas pictures and just enjoy our park as well.

Mayor Hatfield says the project is expected to be completed within the next 60 days.
