The search continues six months after a teenager went missing. A golf cart he had been riding was found in Covington County, but there’s still been no other signs of him.

17-year-old Jonathan Lyman had taken a golf cart from his grandparents’ home in Walton County, Florida, which is just across the Alabama state line. The home is on County Highway 181 West in Gaskin, Florida.

Investigators say he left sometime between midnight and 5AM on July 5, 2025. Six months later, his disappearance hasn’t been solved.

One clue is the golf cart, which was found on Finks Mill Road near Geohagen Road in Covington County, which had been spotted by a passerby between 7AM and 8AM that day.

“Our whole life was Jonathan,” his parents said as they made a plea for information regarding his disappearance. Lyman was visiting Walton County from South Florida.

There is no information on what he may have been wearing when he vanished, other than a black pair of boots.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office says it continues to work closely with law enforcement in Covington County. Drones, K-9 teams, helicopters and numerous other assets have been used over the last several months to help search for Lyman.
