Mayor Steven Reed delivers his State of the City Address
Hundreds gathered at Vaughn Forest Church for the State of the City Address in east Montgomery tonight.
The event welcomed people to talk and voice their concerns with their city officials and leaders. During that time, people were also invited to enjoy food and refreshments before the mayor’s speech.
The address kicked off with the pledge of allegiance and the singing of the national anthem. Mayor Reed came out to deliver his speech which is titled “Montgomery Momentum.” Reed’s speech focused on public safety, economic growth, infrastructure & connectivity, and community & culture.
Towards the end of his speech, Reed talked about how families are a vital part of Montgomery, and how his administration will continue to work tirelessly for the city.
“Certainly, it belongs to the families who make this city what it is. Safety, affordability, and opportunity rise together, and when government stays focused on delivery, people feel the difference. Montgomery is moving forward. And together, we will keep building a city that works for everyone,” said Mayor Steven Reed.
Mayor Reed went on to say he believes Montgomery is moving in the right direction, and that he looks forward to the future.
