Montgomery Humane Society Marketing Director retires after 20 years of service to the community
After helping the unhoused animals of the River Region find homes for the last 2 decades, Lea Turbert of the Montgomery Humane Society has retired.
Moving to Montgomery from Florida in 2006, Lea immediately became a volunteer at the shelter because of her passion for helping animals. Then she became the face of the Montgomery Humane Society by becoming their Marketing Director. In this role, Lea goes on television and radio to promote the many adoptable pets that she loves dearly.
Lea has left a lasting mark at the shelter as she started the annual Catini Fundraiser that raises money to care for the feline residents at the shelter. She also never leaves her work at the office as she often takes home newborn kittens to bottle feed and foster. Lea is also known to give endless treats and love to the many dogs who come through the shelter doors.
Lea Turbert’s last day at the Montgomery Humane Society was February 27.
