Registration underway for the 43rd Alabama State Games
Registration is now underway for the 43rd Alabama State Games.
This year’s event will take place once again in Birmingham with opening ceremonies kicking it off on Friday, June 12 at Legacy Arena.
This year’s sports lineup features bass fishing, mountain biking, billiard, kickball, track and field, softball and much more.
The Alabama State Games were created at the request of the United States Olympic Committee in 1982 and held their first competition in 1983 at Auburn University.
Since then, the Alabama State Games have grown to Alabama’s largest multi-sport event. Alabama has the second-oldest State Games program in the country.
Action 8’s Abby Payne sat down with Griffin Pritchard to learn more about this year’s games. You can watch that interview above.
