ACTION 8 UPDATE: Worker killed in Bullock County work zone

BULLOCK COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – An employee with the Alabama Department of Transportation was killed while working Thursday morning.

The incident happened in a work zone in Bullock County.

ALDOT officials say Amad Jackson, a 24-year employee and current Crew Leader, was hit in an active work zone while completing routine maintenance. Jackson later died from his injuries.

ALDOT is providing support to our staff and the family of the victim during this incredibly difficult time.

“I ask that you pray for his family and loved ones as they navigate this tragic loss. This is a solemn reminder for us all to use extreme caution whenever driving through work zones,” said Josh Kervin, ALDOT Southeast Region Engineer.

ALDOT is working with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency in their investigation into the crash.
