Expect daytime traffic delays on Interstate 85 in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Alabama Department of Transportation says road work will cause daytime traffic delays on Interstate 85 in Montgomery.

Contractors will begin daytime lane closures Monday, June 8. Intermittent lane closures will take place both northbound and southbound from Ann Street to Eastern Boulevard, which are Exits 3 and 6.

The lane closures will occur daily from 9AM to 3PM for crews to apply a high-density mineral bond to reinforce the road’s shoulders. This specific pavement material requires daytime temperatures and sunlight to cure properly.

This daytime work is expected to take approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
