Paintball tournament to benefit area youth and their families

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Several community leaders and groups are coming together for a huge paintball tournament that helps benefit area youth and their families.

The Battle for the City Paintball Tournament will take place on June 27 starting at 9:00 a.m. at the Battlegrounds Paintball Park on Clayton Street.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Battlegrounds Foundation.

Organizers say many young people face transportation barriers, limited resources or a lack of safe and positive weekend activities.

The Battle for the City helps connect with youth by repairing and/or building bridges.

Action 8’s Abby Payne sat down with Alexis Thomas and Lt. Willie Stewart with the Montgomery Police Department to learn more about the fundraiser. You can watch that interview above.
