Wet weather pattern this week with widespread rain/storms at times
Some sunshine filled the sky across part of central and south Alabama Monday morning. By midday, the sky was mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms south of highway 80, mainly on either side of highway 84. Rain coverage gradually increases Monday afternoon, with a mostly cloudy to overcast sky otherwise. High temperatures range from the mid to upper 80s.
Some rain lingers into Monday evening, and there may be a lull in showers/storms for a time Monday night. The sky remains mostly cloudy to overcast with lows in the low 70s. More rain likely develops late Monday night into Tuesday morning. In fact, rain may be widespread by sunrise Tuesday. Additionally, showers and storms may remain fairly widespread throughout the day.
The combination of rain and a mainly cloudy sky results in high temperatures only in the upper 70s to low 80s. Rain chances remain elevated for the rest of the week, though coverage of showers and storms may be more scattered Wednesday through Friday. Because of that, high temperatures may be near 90° again. Rain coverage may decrease Father’s Day weekend. At least isolated afternoon/evening showers/storms remain possible with highs in the low 90s.
