Typical July heat, but rain chances rise late this week and weekend
Wednesday morning was partly to mostly sunny and dry. By midday, temperatures were on either side of 90°. Meanwhile, heat indices were near 100° in some locations at that time. High temperatures range from the low to mid 90s, with peak heat indices near or over 100° Wednesday. Meanwhile, the sky remains partly cloudy with only isolated showers or storms Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday night looks partly cloudy to mostly clear with lows in the low to mid 70s.
Rain coverage rises Thursday and Friday. Showers and storms become widely scattered each afternoon and linger into the evening. However, high temperatures still range from the low to mid 90s before cooling rain arrives. Heat indices still peak near or over 100°. Rain chances rise further this weekend. Scattered afternoon/evening showers and storms may hold high temperatures in the low 90s for most Saturday and Sunday.
An arriving/stalling front early next week keeps rain chances elevated Monday and perhaps Tuesday. Although, our area may trend drier Wednesday through Friday. As a result, high temperatures may rise from the low 90s early in the week back into the mid 90s Thursday and Friday.
