House fire in Clanton leaves one person dead, two injured
CLANTON, Ala. (WAKA) – One person has been killed and two others were left injured in a house fire in Clanton.
The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office says the fire was reported at around 8:10PM last night in the 5000 block of Chilton County Road 76.
Volunteer fire departments responded, along with law enforcement and emergency medical personnel. One person escaped without injury. Two others were taken to a hospital for treatment, but their conditions are unknown. A fourth person was unable to escape and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The names of the people involved have not yet been released until their family members have been notified.
