Maplesville football team to forfeit two games

MAPLESVILLE, Ala. (WAKA) – Maplesville High School’s football team in Chilton County will forfeit two games.

The AHSAA has announced that the team has been fined and placed on probation for playing an ineligible player in violation of the AHSAA Eligibility Rule.

As a result, Maplesville High School’s varsity football program must forfeit two games won that the ineligible student participated in, the AHSAA says.

The violation was self-reported.

The Maplesville Red Devils are the reigning Class 1A state champions.
