Brundidge Police search for suspect in Tuesday morning shooting
PIKE COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Brundidge Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted in connection to a Tuesday morning shooting that left a man dead.
Police chief Ulane Jamison says the shooting happened around 3:15 a.m. at a home in Brundidge.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man dead inside a residence. The victim’s name has not be released.
Police were able to identify the suspect as 44-year-old Dewayne Alvin Dunford. He’s described as 5’11, 205 lbs.
Police say Dunford was seen leaving the area in a black vehicle accompanied by a white woman.
Anyone with information about this shooting or the location of the suspect is asked to call the Brundidge Police Department at 334-735-3333.
The public is urged to not approach or attempt to contact Dunford. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Brundidge Police will release more information as it becomes available. They are being assisted by the Pike County District Attorney’s Office, the Pike County Coroner’s Office, and the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
