QB Sean White gives Auburn a spark, but Tigers fall to MSU 17-9

Auburn, AL – The Auburn Tigers fell to Mississippi State 17-9 at home on Saturday. Redshirt freshman Sean White started at quarterback instead of junior Jeremy Johnson.

White is the first Auburn freshman QB to make his first start in an SEC game since Jeff Klein at Tennessee in 1999. White was 20-28 for 188 yards, and had one interception against the Bulldogs.

“I felt fine. I wish we could’ve pulled out the win. I’m obviously disappointed, but I felt good playing for the first time. I felt comfortable,” White said.
