From the West Alabama Newsroom– Selma Police are working overtime — after a deadly outbreak of violence in the city over the weekend.
Police say 22 year old Devontae Jiles and 21 year old Kendarious Brown are charged with capital murder in the shooting death of a Marengo man — in Selma Saturday night.
Police say it happened after the victim began hearing noises at a residence on the 500 block of Dallas Avenue — and went outside to check it out.
“He had a confrontation with Kendarious Brown concerning him in on the property — at that point we believe that the second suspect Devontae Jiles come out of the cloak of darkness and fired two shots, one of the shots being the fatal shot to the face,” said Lt. Curtis Muhannad.
Jiles and Brown are both being held in the Dallas County Jail without bond.
A preliminary hearing date has been set for April 7th.
