The City of Troy announces the largest road projects in its modern history and as a result Publix has signed their lease to open up.

But, where they are moving to is where more than 100 people call home, and will be displaced.

The Publix will open right off U.S. Highway 231 and George Wallace- the current home of the Hillside Mobile Home Park.

Some residents said while they did see this coming, they were not happy that they learned off the news on TV and were not told by the property owner.

One of the owners said they could not release anything until it was all approved by the city.

Tim Coleman, One of the Owners, Hillside Mobile Home Park said, “Had we announced the Publix was going to buy this property and they hadn’t gotten approvals, then that would have upset a lot of lives and these people would have had to find somewhere to live with no reason to find somewhere to live so now there’s a reason and we are here to help them find that place to live, and I think it played out the only way it could play out.”

The owner and the company attorney were meeting to come up with a letter to send to all the tenants.. He says they will work to help the residents move. and are working out the finances of that in the next day or two.
