UPDATE: Current Alabama Power Outages in Central Alabama

Update: As thunderstorms continue to move through Central Alabama, thousands of Alabama Power customers continue to lose their power. Alabama Power’s public information representative Michael Jordan, tells us that as of 9 p.m. the following areas are experiencing power outages:

• Tallapoosa County – 3,000 customers
• Chilton County – 2,700 customers
• Coosa County – 1,000 customers
• Montgomery County – 370 customers
• Autauga County – 250 customers
• Wilcox County – 220 customers
• Elmore County – 100 customers

Fewer outages are also widely scattered in Dallas, Lowndes, Perry, and Lee Counties.
