Saturday was a gloomy day across central and south Alabama. Clouds were widespread, but rain coverage and intensity was relatively low. Temperatures were still mild, with highs near 70° in many locations. Rain coverage remains isolated Saturday night. Temperatures remain mild, with overnight lows in the low 60s. Sunday looks mainly cloudy, with rain and storms likely late.
Some storms may become strong to severe late Sunday through Sunday night. Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and tornadoes are the primary hazards. Even if strong/severe storms do not materialize, heavy rain may lead to localized flooding through Monday. Area rain totals could be up to 2″, with isolated higher amounts. The severe weather window closes and rain tapers off Monday afternoon.
Sunshine increases with cooler temperatures Tuesday. Temperatures remain near-normal Wednesday, then trend warmer Thursday. High temperatures range from the low to mid 60s Wednesday, then mid to upper 60s Thursday. Clouds increase with more rain Friday into next weekend. Rain looks most likely Friday night through Saturday, before tapering off Sunday.
