Warm temperatures and multiple chances for rain this week

Sunday morning was mainly cloudy with areas of fog. Clouds gradually cleared during the day. Sunshine returned faster in far south Alabama. There, temperatures soared to near 80°. Elsewhere, cloud-cover lingered into the afternoon. Some locations only warmed into the low 70s. However, temperatures were above-average area-wide. Despite the clouds, rain coverage was near-zero.

Clouds fill back in Sunday night, with areas of fog forming through Monday morning. A dense fog advisory begins at midnight and continues until 9AM Monday for Wilcox, Butler, Crenshaw, and Covington counties. Visibility may fall to one-quarter mile or less at times. Fog may form across the rest of our area also. The rest of the day looks partly to mostly cloudy and warm with isolated showers and highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Rain looks likely Tuesday. It may arrive in multiple rounds starting late Monday night. Some storms appear possible too. However, as of Sunday night, there was no risk for severe storms. Rain amounts through Tuesday generally range from half an inch to one inch. Some showers linger into Wednesday, but late Wednesday through Thursday look drier. Rain looks likely again Friday into Saturday. Sunday and next Monday looks mainly dry and cooler.
